When I did use it there was potentially even less lag to the point of it being 0 or enough I couldn't see it and so far no direct X issues.

I haven't used it heaps as I have only had my iPad a few days and have been enjoying ArtStudio Pro and ProCreate. So I have tried Easy Canvas and so far so good. After researching for a while this seems to be a Very long standing issue with Duet Display and I contacted their tech support and this was confirmed, it is a known issue and there is no fix in the near future. Then when I loaded Photoshop it also crashed before loading.

However after I unplugged it to play a game on my PC the game crashed with a Direct X error before it even loaded fully, I tried another game and another - all the same. Initially it worked and I was really happy, very minimal lag and I could use it as a Cintiq pretty well I thought and tested it using Photoshop CC. So I bought the iPad Pro 2018 12 inch and then installed Duet Display. If anybody could help me it would be much appreciated.Įdit: I should add that I have watched a few videos by Brad Colbow on Youtube where he kinda covers this but the reason I am still asking is that I believe he used a Surface Pro 3 to test and my PC is considerably more powerful, which may resolve some issues and also the new iPad is more powerful and allows a USB-C to USB-C connection.Įdit 2: Further edit to help anybody in the same spot who comes across my post. So could either of these apps let me have my cake and eat it too or would it be a poor Cintiq replacement that whilst usable would be a poor experience? I hear rumours of Astropad one day running on PC or Apple building this option into ios 13 but these are all rumors unless some concrete announcements have been made? How was your experience - how is the lag, pressure levels, ease of use and is it buggy etc? My PC is quite powerful (Ryclocked 4GHz, 16GB 3200 MHz RAM, 1080 Ti) and it has a USB-C port on the motherboard so I can go USB-C to USB-C.

What would really help settle this for me though is to hear from any users who use the new iPad pro as a Cintiq on Windows via Duet Display or Easy Canvas. I do love the idea of the portability though, so having an option to use it as a Cintiq at home or an iPad when out and about would be amazing. I understand the pro's and con's of the iPad art programs and overall I just prefer Photoshop CC (Which I know is coming to the iPad in 2019). I am torn between the two and have gone back and forth regarding which I should get for my art - comic book style line art and coloring, so no 3d work.
